Millions of European piglets are painfully castrated, have their tails cut or burned off, and their teeth clipped or ground away.

Call on agricultural ministers to help us change this. If you’re from outside the EU you can also sign. The EU exports pigs and pork products to every country in the world, so international trade also drives these mutilations. Act now to end pig pain.

Piglets have their tails cut or burned off. They have their teeth clipped or ground away. This is done to control behaviour, particularly in intensive farming systems, where pigs are often kept in barren and overcrowded conditions. Act now to help us stop it.

Millions of male piglets are painfully castrated in the European Union every year to avoid the risk of boar taint. This is unnecessary, as more humane alternatives exist. Pigs can be kept whole, or vaccinated against boar taint. Act now to help us change this.

ACT NOW

EU: If you are in the EU select your country and send a letter to your national Agricultural Minister asking to phase out all pig mutilations.

Rest of the world: if you’re outside the EU your letter will go to the EU commissioner who can end the suffering that goes into many exported pork products.
